Unlike a translator, who changes written words from one language to another, an INTERPRETER renders messages between languages in the spoken form. This can be in person both consecutively (one person speaking at a time and pausing for the interpreter to render the message), and simultaneously (interpreter renders interpretation while the parties are speaking, always a few words behind the conversation); or over the telephone.
Interpreters also provide Sight Translation services. Sight translation is the oral reporting of written material into the target language (ie: taking a confidentiality form that is written in English and reading it out loud in Spanish to the patient).
These are some examples of assignments that our Interpreters routinely handle:
Medical Appointments
Workforce training, staff meetings and employee evaluations
Seminars and Meetings
Legal Consultations
Trade shows and hosting for Foreign nationals visiting the US
Support for International Sales and Trade Negotiations
Bilingual Talent for Radio and Television
Social Service Appointments
